Regulating Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping our industries, governments and societies. The scale, scope and pace of change is fast. By just scanning your eyes, an AI tool can detect the risk of heart and neurological disorders. An AI education companion can develop a tailored learning plan for students. As AI technologies advance and become more integrated into our daily lives, the need for governance becomes crucial to address ethical concerns, mitigate risks, and promote accountability.
This means organisations must adhere to existing laws and regulations related to data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity. But countries are starting to develop or consider specific regulations or guidelines for AI technologies to promote fairness, transparency, accountability and inclusivity. Many national, regional and international authorities have begun adopting strategies, actions plans and policy papers on AI. While there is international consensus to regulate AI, there are different views on how and how heavy-handed regulators should be. These issues are challenging the regulatory environment, as countries consider different approaches creating business uncertainty. Using examples, this webinar introduces the emerging policies, guidelines and regulations around the world to regulate AI.
