Handling Uncertainty and Doubt

Virtual

Meeting link sent by email to registered members.

What is fear and uncertainty? Did you know that back in the 1970s, “FUD” or fear, Uncertainty & Doubt was actually a sales and marketing technique in technology? It was used to spread disinformation about competitors’ products thereby discouraging buyers to choose them. It was epitomised by the phrase “Nobody ever got fired for buying IBM…”. But what about in our own, personal and professional lives? How prepared are we to “handle” fear and uncertainty? Our brains are primordially wired for fear and uncertainty serves to feed this instinct while also creating stress in many other ways. In this meeting, we will attempt to understand and discuss the dimensions, causes and relationship between fear and uncertainty, and also how best to mitigate, manage or handle typical situations that we face that cause us to be uncertain and fearful. Do come prepared with an open mind to share and discover.
