Executive Loneliness Impacts Performance In Asia, JUL 1, 2019

Not having someone to talk to about their problems and worries can eventually deter their mental well-being. This is the issue faced by many regional directors stationed in a foreign country, mainly in Asia. To combat executive loneliness, executives in Singapore are encouraged to help each other comfort their worries by meeting up either online or offline and exchange advice.

Executives’ loneliness in Singapore is further compounded by the fact that they are often reporting to head offices in Europe or the US, meaning they have to work late to ensure there is an overlap in the two locations’ working days. These long hours leave little time for developing a strong network, which could go some way towards alleviating feelings of isolation.
