China is in eclipse, HK (long the centre of SEA financial services) is increasingly seen as a riskier bet than at any time in the last 30 years. In addition significant Financial Services and manufacturing activity has shifted to SEA, and Singapore looks set to benefit from its reputation for transparency and regulatory consistency.
At the same time those of us operating here in the Lion Kingdom have found it much harder to bring in the expertise we need and are faced with massive cost increases in people, real estate, and staples.
What is the future of Singapore as a regional hub, what can we learn from recent experience and can we create some guidelines for successful operation here?
